HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESS!!!!

Jessanne, I miss you like crazy. I hope you had fun with us last night.
Mike drove me, Laurie and David to New York to visit Jess for her birthday yesterday. (Mike, thank you so much for doing that long drive there and back, expecially coming back when all three of us fell asleep and it was just you and the road. You rule!) We got to Jess's new apt around 2ish and found DT playing Pearl Jam on the guitar and the kitties running amuck amidst the cardboard boxes of Jess's new futon. After doing some gossip catch up to the tunes of the Garden State soundtrack (which is really good, if you haven't heard it), we took the train out to THE CITY and crashed for lunch after some serious pavement pounding. There we met up with David's sister and Jed who miraculously showed up for once. It was fun. Next, we hit a bar and coffee shop (that's a rare combo) which had the Peanut Butter Co. right across the street. I wish I hadn't eaten already because I LOVE peanut butter. Yum.
We walked around some more and before we knew it, it was time to go to the Miracle Grill, where Jess was having her birthday dinner. It was a really nice place with good food, an outdoor patio in the back, and this White Peach sangria that was so yummy. The night ended deliciously with a slice of spicy chocolate cake and hand whipped whip cream. It was hard to say goodbye to Jess whose move to New York still feels surreal but we all had to work the next day. We hopped into Mike's car and bid New York adieu.
